About Torus

Torus offers a diversified and growing range of property, casualty and specialty insurance, as well as reinsurance products, to a global client base through its European, US and Bermudian based insurance subsidiaries.

 

Launched in 2008, Torus now has over 500 employees in 15 offices worldwide.


Torus Insurance Holdings Limited is the holding company of six wholly owned insurance vehicles, including one Lloyd's syndicate:

  • Torus Insurance (UK) Limited, a UK insurer regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority

  • Torus National Insurance Company, a US admitted markets insurer

  • Torus Insurance (Europe) AG, a Liechtenstein-based European specialty insurer
  • Syndicate 1301, managed by Torus Underwriting Management Limited, a Lloyd’s registered managing agency

We add to this a strong culture of service backed by the latest IT systems to provide the highest levels of service to our insureds and their brokers, which in turn fosters the development of strong long-lasting relationships.

 

Torus has held a financial strength rating of A- (Excellent) from ratings agency A.M. Best since launch, most recently affirmed in November 2012.  Through Lloyd’s, Syndicate 1301 is rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best and A+ by Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings.
