Richard joined Torus in May 2010 following the acquisition of Glacier Insurance A.G., of which he had been Chief Executive since October 2008.
He has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and has worked in various senior underwriting positions for major insurers such as GE Frankona, Faraday and Converium. Richard joined Glacier as a founder having worked for the Glacier Group since its inception in December 2004.

Linc is responsible for executing a country wide growth strategy for the US platform of Torus; expanding Torus’ brand and customer reach and building a regional infrastructure across the United States. He joined Torus in March 2009.
From 2005, he acted as President of Statehouse Casualty Managers, a nationwide managing general underwriting firm specializing in umbrella & excess liability products, prior to which he was at St. Paul Travelers as head of its US field operations for its Specialty Excess division, and also served as President of St. Paul (Bermuda) Ltd.
Linc began his career in 1986 with Chubb Corp, holding several management positions including Senior Vice President of Property & Casualty at Chubb Atlantic in Bermuda.

As Group Chief Claims Officer, Rob is responsible for the delivery of Torus’ claims products worldwide, personally engaging in handling major property and energy claims, including business interruption.
Prior to joining Torus in August 2008, he worked at Xchanging, where he provided a range of services to the Lloyd’s market in London as Head of First Party Claims. He has worked as an Independent Loss Adjuster for much of his 29 year career, reaching the position of President of Cunningham Lindsey International (US) inc, based in New York.
He is qualified by examination as a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and has Chartered Insurer status. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters and a European Loss Adjusting Expert - FUEDI (European Federation of Loss Adjusting experts).

Mike joined Torus in December 2010 to develop Torus’ US commercial errors and omissions platform.
Mike has over 24 years of underwriting experience in various lines of professional liability, most recently as Worldwide MPL Product Manager at Chubb. Prior to Chubb he spent ten years at AIG, New York. Mike began his career in 1987 at Victor O. Schinnerer in Washington, DC, underwriting architects & engineers professional liability on behalf of CNA.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, with a B.A in Economics and an MBA from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Mike also attained the registered professional liability underwriter (RPLU) designation, is an active member in PLUS, and served on the PLUS Board Eastern chapter from 2006-2010.

Steven has a B.Sc. honours degree in engineering and is both a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
His working career commenced on a coal fired power station in South Africa in 1983 where he was an assistant commissioning engineer. In 1986 he worked as a commissioning engineer at Torness Nuclear Power Station in Scotland and from 1989 until 1994 he worked as a steam turbine sales and project engineer for Siemens in both England and Germany.
Steven commenced his underwriting career in 1994 with Munich Re in London. In the last 15 years he has underwritten some of the world’s major projects and has visited literally hundreds of sites to meet with clients and survey the risks that he has written. Steven was promoted to the position of engineering manager in 2003 and was responsible for a team of eight professionals whilst at Munich Re.
Steven joined Torus in October 2008.

Tim was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer in February 2012 to head Torus’ financial function globally. He also has ultimate responsibility for Torus’ Global Delivery Services team.
Tim has over 20 years’ experience in financial and capital managements. Prior to joining Torus, Tim held the position of Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer and Chief Capital Officer of Aviva plc, where he was responsible for leading the group capital team with specific responsibility for managing capital across Aviva, including treasury, asset & liability management, reinsurance and Solvency II. Before that he was Chief Financial Officer, Aviva Europe and Chief Accounting Officer, Aviva plc.
Before joining Aviva, Tim was a Partner in the Global Capital Markets practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Tim is a Graduate of Durham University and Warwick Business School, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner.

Sharon joined Torus in August 2012 to lead the Financial Institutions segment.
She has 25 years of financial institutions industry experience, most recently within Marsh FINPRO where she was a Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor to many complex and diverse financial institutions including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and US Bancorp. While at Marsh and previously at Aon, Sharon developed her expertise in the asset management sector.
Prior to her brokerage experience Sharon managed and developed the Financial Institution Practice at Gulf/Travelers after underwriting in the Chubb Department of Financial Institutions as well as Reliance and CIGNA.
Sharon graduated from Yale University with a B.A in Economics.

James joined Torus in January 2012 following the acquisition of Syndicate 1301 by Torus.
He has over 12 years’ experience in the London market, underwriting fine art and high net worth property insurance for Chubb, AXA Art and Broadgate Syndicate 1301 at Lloyd’s.
James was the first Renaissance PhD from the joint institutions of the Royal College of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He has written articles on diverse aspects of the Renaissance and lectures widely in the UK and overseas.

Demian joined Torus from the Navigators Group-owned Lloyd’s Specialist Marine Syndicate 1221, where he was responsible for Marine and Energy Liabilities. He began his career at Miller in 1995.
An Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Demian holds an MBA from Edinburgh University Management School and a B Eng. (Hons) in Naval Architecture from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
Robert joined Torus Insurance in June 2010 having started his underwriting career with Liberty Syndicates 4472 where he underwrote the marine liability and war account, ultimately as Class Underwriter. This was followed by a period at Aviva Marine underwriting an international and domestic hull account.
Robert has over 25 years of marine insurance experience. He started with brokers Leslie & Godwin and later Lowndes Lambert, where he handled both International marine hull and liability business and American brown water accounts.

AVP, Commercial E&O and Media Liability Practice Leader
Chris joined Torus in April 2012 to develop commercial E&O business in the US, with a focus on media liability.
Chris brings over 10 years of media and entertainment experience to Torus’ Professional Lines team. He joins Torus from Chubb Specialty Insurance, where he was the lead Senior Underwriting Officer for media, privacy, and errors & omissions liability for the Mid West and West.
He graduated from Quinnipiac University with a B.A in Mass Communications.
Robert has over 20 years of healthcare liability experience. He oversees all of Torus’ global medical professional liability underwriting reporting directly to Naveen Anand, CEO Americas and Global Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to Torus Bob was most recently Vice President of Healthcare with Allied World Assurance (US), where he was responsible for the medical professional liability product line. He has held senior underwriting positions at Zurich Insurance, U.S. RE and AIG. He has also held healthcare brokerage positions with Marsh and Johnson & Higgins.
Robert is a psychology graduate from the University of Virginia and an active member of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).

With experience spanning over 23 years, David is no stranger to the intricacies of the Specialty Insurance Market.
Beginning his career in the late 1980’s at Willis, he quickly progressed and later moved into the Offshore Energy field with Hiscox.
By 2000, David was Global Head of Offshore Energy and Regional Head of Marine at XL before joining Torus in 2009.

VP, Head of US Private Company Management Liability
Craig leads Torus’ private company, not-for-profit and middle market management liability segments for the Americas region. He joined Torus in January 2012 from Ryan Specialty Group where he was a Managing General Underwriter Director.
Prior to Ryan Specialty Group he served as the Executive Underwriter for Chubb Specialty Wholesale and Underwriting Service Branch on a national basis for all management and professional liability products for all customers groups.
Craig has over 18 years of management liability underwriting experience.
He joined Torus from Chubb in October 2010 where he was Senior Vice President and worldwide manager for their professional liability businesses, which included legal, technology, life sciences, media/entertainment, healthcare industry and financial institution segments.
He is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he received a B.Sc in Human Physiology in 1987 and a B.A in Political Science in 1989.
VP, US Management Liability
Ken joined Torus in July 2010 to head Corporate D&O.
Ken has over 18 years of D&O experience during which time he has held senior positions at Freedom Specialty, Darwin, Arch, Hartford and Reliance; he was involved in the successful start-up of Freedom and Arch. Ken is a recognized leading underwriter within the General Partnership and Real Estate Investment Trust Liability product arena.
Ken holds a B.Sc degree in Marketing with a Concentration in Finance from the University of Scranton.

Printhan began his insurance career in 1998 and joined Torus in April 2009 as Head of Underwriting Strategy & Ceded Reinsurance. He was promoted to his current position in February 2010 where he is now responsible for the identification and development of all strategic business and product opportunities across the Torus Group. He also oversees the structuring and purchasing of the Group’s outwards reinsurance program and supports Dermot O’Donohoe as Specialty Product Manager.
During his 12 year career he has worked in various actuarial and reinsurance purchasing roles at Navigators, Zurich and Tillinghast both in Lloyd’s and the London market.

Sima joined Torus as Head of Space in January 2012. Formerly Head of Space at Sciemus, she has also worked at QinetiQ, the former UK defence and research agency.
Sima has a PhD in modelling satellite orbit perturbations due to solar radiation effects from University College London and a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.
Tony is responsible for implementing the surety strategy for Torus America. He joined Torus in December 2011, bringing over 25 years of experience in the surety industry to this role.
Prior to joining Torus, he was a Senior Vice President at Selective Insurance, a super-regional property and casualty insurer, where he oversaw the surety operation in addition to several other roles.
Tony has an undergraduate degree in economics from Drew University and holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Michael is the Group Chief Administrative Officer responsible for Global Delivery Services. He is ultimately responsible for all Information Technology and Operations functions as well as services provided by Torus India.
Prior to joining Torus in August 2010, he was the Chief Technology Officer at The Hartford's Property Casualty Company. Before The Hartford, Michael was a Partner at Towers Perrin consulting to financial services companies. Over the past 25 years, he has worked exclusively with the financial services industry.
Michael is a graduate of Yale University with Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
